An old fashion book says so about choosing our clothing.
- short plus size
- strong hips, weak upper body
- short waist, long lower body
- strong breasts and narrow hips
- long neck
- short neck
For tall, thin women, seams and lines that divide the figure and lie in the width direction are correct. Large checkered, cross-striped textile patterns are suitable, but not in too bright colors. Mid-tone pastel colors do not emphasize the large body shape.
For short fat women, do not use lines placed at the edge. The most suitable is the "straight" cut, which means a tailored jacket without a belt. The long cut is the right solution with evenly wide /compensating the thickness of the arm/ sewn-in sleeves. Materials with small patterns, dark shades, tweed fabrics patterned with colors close to each other or monochromatic materials are beneficial for them.
For women with a short waist and a high hip line, a slightly slimmer suit or mini suit is best. Under no circumstances should we use wide belts and skirts that extend downwards. On materials with a medium shade, monochromatic or medium-sized patterns are suitable.
For women with strong breasts and a weak hip line, the belt should be abandoned. The waistline should not be emphasized, but lengthened. The preferred form is the two-piece dress, the slimmed upper part with a straight skirt. The upper part requires dark colors and small patterns, while the skirt can be lighter, perhaps with longitudinal stripes or checkered patterns.
Women with long necks should not wear high collars, wide necklines, long rows of pearls or chains, instead use pearls strung around the neck in multiple rows.
For women with short and thick necks, round, square cutouts or horizontal lines are not beneficial. The small format, longitudinal collar slightly offset from the neck, as well as the elongated cutout and string of pearls are recommended.
When choosing the color and shape of the clothes, consider the color of the face and hair too.
I will write about this in another blog post.
